Jane Onoba Joins Race for Ogori-Magongo Chairmanship Seat

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ogori-Magongo local government of Kogi State, Onoba Tayo Jane, has joined the chairmanship race in the much anticipated council polls.

Onoba, the grassroot women mobilizer for Gov. Yahaya Bello/Edward Onoja re-election in 2019 pledged to entrench accountability, transparency and humanity in the body politics of the local government if elected chairman.

A graduate of the University of Jos with over two decades experience in public service, Onoba contended that the people of the area deserve more dividends of democracy.

While speaking with our correspondent in Lokoja on Tuesday, Onoba promised that if given the opportunity, she would make a difference.

She pointed out that as teacher and educationist who has mixed and interacted with the grassroots over the years, she knows them well and understands their needs and aspirations.

Onoba added that if given the chance, she will be in best position to meet the hopes and aspirations of her people. She also pledged to work with the relevant authorities to ensure safety of lives and properties as well as peaceful co-existence among the people.

According to the chairmanship hopeful, Governor Yahaya Bello has worked assiduously to reposition the state in the last four years and need someone like her who has the grasp of the grassroots to translate his desires for the people into reality.

She called on the good, progressive and peace loving people of Ogori/Magongo to join her in working for the transformation of the local government by voting for her in the coming council elections.

While congratulating Governor Bello on his re-election, the astute mobilizer call on the people of the area to join hands with APC administration to lift the state to enviable heights.
