Jami’atul-Duatul-islamiyyaKabawa has honoured a former Deputy Majority Leader in the House of Representatives, late Rt Hon Umar Buba Jibril for his contributions towards uplifting the standard of living of his community and Islam.
Presenting the posthumous award on behalf of the association at this year annual Maulud, the Chief Imam of Kutepa mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Yahaya Abu- Bilal said late Buba helped in the promotion of Islam especially the Kabawa annual Maulud.
According to the Islam cleric, this year Maulud is the 9th organized by the group.
“We have singled out late Buba Jibril with pride for the volumes of contributions which have made a positive impact not only on the people of this area but Lokoja and the state in general,” he said.
He called on well meaning Nigerians to emulate the former leader who he described as “a pillar whose demise created an irreplaceable loss.”
Imam Bilal prayed for the repose of Buba and prayed Allah to grant him aljanat Firdausi.
The award was received on behalf of the family by the senior son of the former lawmaker, Yakubu Umar Buba
