Politicians are known to have an undying spirit, and will never give up on any political ambition that is very dear to their heart. This is exactly what is playing out again in the confluence state of Kogi, as incontrovertible reports have started trooping in that the posters of Hon. James Abiodun Faleke has again begun to flood the national secretariat of APC and the state announcing his intention to have a shot at the Lugard Government House in Lokoja in the fast-approaching gubernatorial election of the state next November.

Faleke, a sitting member of House of Reps, who has even secured another term in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, is not allowing the ugly incident that edged him out of the plum office when his principal, Abubakar Audu, suddenly died, just few moments to his being announced as the victorious candidate, with Faleke as the running mate. The rest they say is history.

Faleke has decided to pick up the gauntlet and have a better shot at the plum seat of Lugard House because he believes he is a better alternative to the incumbent and has better things to offer his fellow Kogites.

With his renewed moves, Faleke, we hear, has been making extensive consultations with his party stakeholders to win them over in his avowed mission, if only to placate the late Audu’s family and supporters, who are yet to come to terms with the political absurdity that edged the Audu and Faleke ticket out of the race unceremoniously when the race was assumed to have been won, but for the unexpected demise of Audu.
