The Press Conference which kicked off around 3pm, was led by the Convener, Comrade Dayo Onibiyo, and attended by over 43 support groups and others who joined through virtual platforms.

In the welcome address delivered by Engr. Seyi Iselewa, on behalf of Hajiya Billy Onobo, the group stated that, it’s mission is to ensure proper bonding in Governance between the Governor, the appointees, the elected as well as the good people of Kogi state that they govern, the group also offered itself as conflict managers, that will not wait for any affliction to rise before quelling it, once the symptoms are spotted. It affirmed, there won’t be room for escalation with the proposed Government Bonding Commission, whose documentation is ready and will be handed over to the Governor and the Governor-Elect.

The Press Conference, which commended INEC for complying with electoral procedures and laws, also gave kudos to law enforcement agencies, who were not only professional in their conducts but refused to cow in to any form of intimidations they were confronted with, by moribund candidates, who suddenly turned themselves to name droppers.

“We are shocked that people who could not even win election across their Senatorial district are complaining that they were rigged up out in other Senatorial districts” the statement reads in part.

The statement signed by the Convener, Comrade Dayo insisted that the good people of Kogi state and the residents are far ahead of these pretending candidates and their antics, referencing the fact, that some were simply ethnic bigots and scammers who cashed out on the ignorance of their party, particularly the party Leadership who were misled into thinking their name alone will win election, when indeed they are not good to their people.

The conference also did a postmortem of the election, and concluded that the fact that Ododo, the Governor-elect and his party the APC properly registered his presence in all the Senatorial districts confirms his ACCEPTABILITY by the voters, who defiled parochial ethnic interest and voted for one Kogi, joyfully embracing unity, and the future of oneness.

The conference declared in quote, “The truth is that this election drew thick parallel lines between ethnic agenda and state agenda”, which G-60 said clearly showed, that the victor is no doubt popular.

Comrade Dayo Onibiyo, called on the oppositions, to accept the offer of coming to the table for governance by the party, the APC in its magnanimity in victory, before it’s too late, as election is over.

Earlier, Mr. Ageli Friday, Johnbosco Okewu and Mrs. Glory Elejo had reiterated the coming to stay of the victory of Alhaji Ododo Usman Ahmed.

In conclusion, the Support Groups, announced it’s intention to officially set a date aside to confer the title of FATHER OF NEW KOGI on His Excellency, Alhaji Dr Yahaya Adoza Bello CON, for leading the party into victory and clearing the thorny path in the state, where any one from Kogi state can now become a Governor without the fear of being mailed to the cross on the weak and needless plank of ethnicity, noting that, it’s indeed a good developement.
