The new Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) deployed to Kogi by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. James Apam, has resumed duty at the Commission’s state headquarters in Lokoja.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Lokoja by INEC’s Head of Voters’ Education and Publicity in the state, Mr Ahmed Bagudu Biambo.
The statement said the REC in his maiden briefing with management and staff charged them to be upright in the discharge of their duties so as to ensure that the successes recorded by the Commission under its Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakub is not only maintained but tremendously improved to meet international standard.
According to the statement, the new REC is a Professor of Political Science from the Benue State University, Makurdi and he is among the 14 RECs recently sworn-in by the Commission’s Chairman.
