… says a new dawn in Igala kingdom has come.
The incorporated leadership of Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA), under the caretaker chairmanship of Comrade Emmanuel Omattah, has congratulated the new Ata Igala designate, Prince Mathew Alhaji Opaluwa, saying that his emergence is heartwarming and has ended the reign of injustice done to his ancestral parents for a century in the Igala kingdom’s ruling house.
In a statement made available to journalists in Lokoja on Tuesday, Comrade Omattah stated that by his confirmation on Monday 18, 2021, after due consideration by the executive Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the long awaited era of justice has berthed in Igala kingdom.
Comrade Omata, who was a former chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress and Nigeria Union of Teachers in Kogi state, stated that the coming of a new Ata Igala designate, Prince Mathew Alhaji Opaluwa has some spiritual connotations that will lift Igala nation greatly; and as such, the kingdom will witness great restoration, progress and justice under his reign.
“Prince Mathew Alhaji Opaluwa is a product of history and justice. For a century, his ancestral parents were denied of the stool of their ancestors; with pains and calmness they took the trending successions.
“But on 18th October 2021, the reign of imbalance in the Ata Igala ruling house that negated his ancestral parents was laid to rest by his confirmation as a new Ata Igala designate, bringing light back again to the Ame-Achor ruling family.
“It is our hope, with the restoration of Ame -Achor ruling house, that Igala land will witness revival, restoration, justice, progress and calmness that have evaded the land for decades. That is what the emergence of Mathew Alhaji Opaluwa as a new Ata Igala designate signify.
“With heart-cheering, and on behalf of the Board of Trustees of incorporated ICDA, led by Dr Omakoji Simeon Oyiguh, members of the caretaker committee and the people of Igala nation, I hereby congratulate you and your family on your confirmation as the new Ata Igala designate. Ga-abaidu!!!”, the statement expressed.
The incooperated leadership of ICDA thanked the governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja and members of new generation administration, for responding to the yearnings of the people of Igala nation by the historical confirmation on Monday of Prince Mathew Alhaji Opaluwa as a new Ata designate of Igala kingdom.
Equally, the incorporated ICDA leadership commended the Igala Area Traditional Council, HRH, Dr Usman Obaje and his council of chiefs, for their efforts that has at last unveiled the brand new Ata Igala for the kingdom, including all those that played one role or the others in the process of evolving out an Ata Igala for the kingdom.
