  • Group briefs Hon. Bode on 8th Ile’ya Omo Okun Festival, 10th anniversary of Yeye Oge of Okun Land

The leadership and Central Planning Committee of the Ile’ya Omo Okun Generational Foundation have paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Adeyemi Olabode John, Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Energy Matters, in Abuja.

Hon. Bode is also Chairman of the Forum of Special Advisers in Kogi State.

At the meeting, the Foundation presented him with a Letter of Nomination as a recipient of the OGO OKUN Award, an honour reserved for distinguished sons and daughters of Okun land with records of exemplary service.

The delegation also briefed him on preparations for the 8th edition of the Ile’ya Omo Okun Festival and the 10th anniversary of Yeye Oge of Okun Land, which together make up this year’s double celebration.

Responding, Hon. Bode commended the Foundation and praised Yeye Oge of Okun Land for her passion, consistency and resilience over the past decade.

He said that through determination, sacrifice and love for culture, she had thrived against all odds to give Okun land a distinct identity and global recognition through the Aso Ibile Okun.

The Aso Ibile Okun, he noted, is a cultural symbol that now unites Okun sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora.

Hon. Bode said Yeye Oge at 10 was not merely an anniversary but a celebration of vision, cultural preservation and generational impact. He described her as a true cultural ambassador who had redefined Okun pride.

He thanked the Foundation for the nomination, pledged his support and assured the team of his commitment to the success of both the festival and the anniversary.
