The first female lawmaker representing Ijumu Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Omotayo Adeleye-Ishaya has expressed appreciation to stakeholders, members of the All Progressives Congress APC and constituents of the Local Government for the unflinching support given to her aspiration.
Hon. Adeleye-Ishaya made the remark in a statement personally signed by her and made available to Newsmen shortly after her inauguration as member of the 8th Assembly.
The statement reads “On behalf of my husband, children, mother, siblings and all other deserving stakeholders in my person, I return all the glory to God Almighty thereby also using this forum to express my gratitude, my appreciation to you all for the overwhelming victory God granted us through the Ijumu people’s votes for me on March 18th, 2023 into the Kogi State House of Assembly.”
She particularly thanked HRM, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni, the Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, all other Obas in the constituency, including all the Chiefs.
“I am grateful to the apex institution of the Ijumu Development Union through the its leadership team. She added.
“At the risk of being tagged a chauvinist, I distinctively acknowledge the love of motherhood I enjoyed from our womenfolk for tremendously heeding the unprecedented clarion call to gender solidarity in Ijumu through your massive vote for me. God bless you all.
“The ‘ igbarufu’ body (the menfolk) please accept my appreciation. Just as I acknowledge our youths, the great Students’ Union our bright hope for the future, posterity will vindicate and justify you just as God will also prosper you.
“May God continue to strengthen and bless all our men of God, our spiritual leaders courtesy of your prayers for me which God answered.
“I thank all well meaning sojourners in Ijumu who have been enthusiastically committed to the progress of Ijumu. You will also prosper in the land.
The Lawmaker noted that “It is certain that this victory is a result of your concerted efforts in prayers, goodwill, endowment in resources, energy and time spent and indeed your precious votes. I am all inclusive in my gratitude without any iota of bias or prejudice towards whosoever was unable to vote for me for whatsoever reason(s).
She dedicated the mandate to God and her father, Late Hon. Joseph Ade Adeleye, the Olukoju of Ijumu land for his patriotic passion for service to Ijumu, Okun community and humanity, assuring of her resolve to sustain the legacies.
“I consider this victory as just the first leg of a relay race whose ultimate victory lies in the successful completion through rapid developmental transformation of Ijumu thereby perpetually attaining higher heights.
She solicited for prayers and support to enable succeed in her new assignment.
“I equally seek God’s wisdom through your golden advice, especially that, which is grounded on transparent public life and service experience in all its sincerity. May God continue to bless you as you honestly do. To this end, I am immediately opening up the Kogi State House of Assembly, Ijumu Constituency Home Office wheresoever I find a suitable and easily accessible accommodation in Ijumu. I believe this would expeditiously facilitate a responsive and dual communication feedback process between us for a result oriented venture of Ijumu as this.
