The executive members, stakeholders and political appointees of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijumu local government area have passed a vote of confidence on the Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello. They also endorsed the Administrator of Ijumu LGA, Bashorun Taufiq Isa as the “democratic leader of Kogi West.”
The endorsement is contained in a 12-paragraph statement issued and duly signed by the party chairman, Chief Abejide.
According to statement, the stakeholders and members of the party reassured the President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Bello of continuous loyalty and maximum support towards their reelection bids.
They added that the Alh. Taufiq Isa has been unanimously recognized as the political leader of Kogi West.
“We are in tandem, as a party, with the administrative prowess of our leader and Administrator, Alh. Taufiq Isa. His democratic ways of providing good leadership in the senatorial district, his ways of carrying the people and party structure along in all decisions shows his qenuine leadership quality.
“The stakeholders and members of the party are solidly behind the restructuring and administrative shake-up done recently in Ijumu local government council and appreciate the developmental progress and human capital developments of the Administrator and Leader.
“We hereby resolve to appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari and His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello to contest and be the flag-bearer of the APC in 2019 Presidential and Gubernatorial elections respectively. Equally, we warn detractors and diaspora politicians to stop disparaging and blackmailing the present administration of Governor Yahaya Bello and Alh.Taufiq Isa rather appreciate their efforts in providing good governance to the people.
“We are all in support of the monumental achievements of Governor Bello and the good leadership qualities displayed by the Jagaban of Okun Land, Alh. Taufiq Isa. We, the party executives in the local government and wards in Ijumu today, 7th January, 2018, hereby pass a vote of confidence on the Governor, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello and the Administrator/Kogi West Leader, Alh. Taufiq Isa for their people oriented leadership and urged them to continue their good works in Kogi state,” the statement read.
