The Executive members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, has disowned the Chairman of the party in the local government, one Mr Taufiq Isah, describing his actions as not consistent with the position of the executive members in the area.
This was made known in a communiqué signed and issued to pressmen after an extra ordinary meeting held at Iyara, the headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area.

According to the resolution, the executive members and stakeholders in the meeting frown at the call made by Mr Taufiq Isha, acting on behalf of Ijumu chapter of All Progressive Congress, (APC) to rally round the
supplementary Governor – Elect, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as false and baseless, noting that the duo is only speaking for himself not for the party in the local government.
According to the statement, the executive members and stakeholders under the chairmanship of Engr. (Dr.) E.F Ako, has unanimously thrown their weight behind one of their own, the Running Mate to late Prince Abubakar Audu, the Governorship Candidate of the party in the just concluded governorship election in Kogi State, Hon. James Faleke on his efforts to recover the stolen mandate freely given to AUDU/FALEKE JOINT TICKETS on the November 21.
The statement further read that “there have not be a meeting where it was agreed for Mr. Taufiq A. Isah to speak on behalf of the party at the Local Government level”, noting that James Faleke as one of their illustrious sons that contributed to the huge success recorded in the last election, the Executive members that cut across the fifteen
wards, the local government executives and stakeholders of the party gathered to deliberate on the unfolding political developments in the state occasioned by the sudden demised of their leader, Late Prince Abubakar Audu who was seen to have won the November 21 governorship election with a wide margin of over 41, 000 votes before the strange introduction of the supplementary election held on December 5, stressing that it has become imperative for them to make their position known as the party officials from the home local government of Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.
The group described the sudden departure of Prince Abubakar Audu at the verge of his victory, as a great loss to the political landscape of not only Kogi state but the entire country, added that his death will further effect some changes in the country constitutions, a minute silence was observed in his honour.
The party chieftains said that the joint tickets of AUDU/FALEKE has conferred on Hon. James Faleke as the authentic Governor – Elect in the said election, pointing out that the constitutions is very clear about it.
According to them, the overwhelming victory recorded for the party in the last election in Ijumu LGA and the entire Kogi West Senatorial District was not without the efforts of Hon Faleke, hence he has labored hard and he needs to be duly compensated as the law provides, stressing that his emergence as the running mate to late Audu really
effect the change in the game in favour of the APC.
They said the situation in Kogi State is self inflicted problems as all relevant laws has spelt out who can inherit the already garnered votes which has produced winner and loser in the process, noting that the rigmarole of relevant authorities on the issue are mere waste of time.
They further said despite the national leadership of the party has replaced Abubakar Audu, with Alhaji Yahaya Bello does not make it right for them to jump at a temporary opportunities rather they want the whole world to know that they are solidly behind their kinsmen, Hon. James Faleke.
The group further appeals to member and supporters of the party to remain calm and law abiding while their principal is already in court to reclaim the mandate.
