Administrator of Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Taufiq Isa has expressed sadness over the attack on Ayeh Gbede by political thugs.
In a press release made by available to Kogireports by the APC Publicity Secretary, Othman Hamidu, the Administrator vowed to bring the perpetrators to book no matter who is involved.
According to the press release: “A gang of PDP hoodlums led by Chief Sunday Aiyejoritan and Mr Clement Owoyomi has attacked six APC supporters in Iyah/Ayeh Ward of Ijumu Local Government.
“The attack took place at Ayeh Gbede, the country home of Kogi State commissioner of commerce and industry, Hon. Sunday Tolorunleke, in the late hours of Friday.
“As at the time of writing this report, the major casualties are the GYB coordinator, Mr Idowu Ikusemibe and Alh. Asimi Ajege who sustained major injuries and are currently hospitalized.”
Alh. Taufiq Isa attributed the attack to recent upsurge of violence introduced by some political desperadoes who vowed to make the local government ungovernable.
He assured the people of a lasting peace in Ayeh Gbede and its environs.
