Ijumu 2019: Nilo Dam, Top of My Legislative Agenda – Ipinmisho

The House of Assembly candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Ijumu constituency, Alhaji Shuaib Ipinmisho has declared that making Nilo Dam functional for the use of Gbede people is one of his topmost priorities if elected.

Ipinmisho made this statement while inspecting the dam at Aiyegunle Gbede area of Ijumu local government on Friday.

He hinted that the importance of the dam to the people of Gbede land can never be overemphasized, noting that the dam, if revived, will serve not less than nine communities at a time.

“It is my personal belief that this is the time to entrench the progress and development of beloved Ijumu Kingdom. Having this conviction, I have decided to embark on visiting our various communities to identify some teething problems that may require intervention of government in resolving such challenges.

“My first port of call this morning was the abandoned Nilo Water Scheme, Ayegunle Gbede. So, coming here today is to enable us to know what we can do to revive this magnitude project that is of public importance. If elected on the March 2nd, I will make sure that this project receive government immediate attention. When completed, this water project will serve the entire Gbede land.

“The importance of this water project to the lives of our people is so numerous that it can never be overemphasized, it can serves the whole Gbede land, the neighboring communities will come down here to fetch water for domestic use, the water can also be used for farm irrigation and lots more. I will make sure that this water project is revisited and revived if elected,” he said.

Ipinmisho urged the people of Ijumu to come out massively and cast their votes for him, boasting that he knows the challenges his people are facing and he is ready to tackle them one after the other.
