Worried by epileptic electricity supply in Ajaka, the headquarters of Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State, the chairman of the council, Zakari Umar Zakito, has donated a month salary as widow’s mite for the upgrading of electricity supply in the area
Umar announced the donation during the thanksgiving service for Elder Friday Sani, member representing Igalamela-Odolu constituency at the state House of Assembly, at the Catholic Church, Ajaka.
The chairman said he was not happy seeing people living in darkness, adding that with the donation, it would be easier to complete the electrification project going on in the community.
He promised to link with the state government agency in charge of electricity to ensure early completion and allow people to enjoy electricity.
Also, a member of the Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Akpada Edicha, donated N100,000 to support the church.
The parish priest of the church, Rev, Father Mathew Attah, however, thanked the chairman for the gesture while calling for more of such for the good of the people and the glory of God.
