A chairmanship aspirant in Igalamela-Odolu local government of Kogi state has expressed confidence in the ability of Governor Yahaya Bello to turn the fortunes of the state around.
Speaking in Lokoja on Wednesday, Egwu stated that there is remarkable improvement in every sector of the state based on the achievements of Governor Bello in his first term in office.
Egwu said Bello’s second term in office will consolidate on the foundation built in the last four years and further implement the marshal plan the Governor has for the people of Kogi state.
The chairmanship hopeful said Bello has created a business friendly environment in the state that will attract foreign and local investment which will turn harness the potentials of the state and create jobs for the teeming youths.
“Governor Yahaya Bello is ready to go into partnership with relevant national and international agencies and other experts to implement his Marshall Plan for economic transformation and development of the state. Governor Bello’s Marshal Plan will, no doubt, accelerate the development of Kogi State.
“The next four years are therefore pivotal as the governor is ready to consolidate on the progressive foundations laid in the last four years. He is committed to taking Kogi state to a greater era of achievements and progress because making Confluence State the greatest state in Nigeria is a task that must be accomplished.
“The governor gave us assurance during campaign that he will continue on the economic trajectory of fiscal discipline, prudence, prioritisation of capital projects over recurrent and giving value for money spent in the delivery of services.
“Today the issue of salary has been addressed at the state level, the Governor is now working hard to ensure the local level is sorted out.
“We know we are developing, but it is better and more result-oriented if approached in an organised and strategic form,” he said.
