Igala Youth Council Decries Spate of Kidnapping in Kogi East

Igala Youths Council (IYC) has called on Kogi state government to ensure adequate security of lives and property in the eastern axis of the state.

The national president of IYC, Hon. Collins Onogwu Monday made the call in Lokoja during a meeting of the association.

He expressed worry over the rising cases of kidnapping in the region in recent time.

He charged members of the association on the need to sensitise Igala youths to desist from such ugly acts in the interest of peace and development of the area.

He, however, called on the state government to beef up security in Kogi state generally to avoid further occurrences .

He noted that the recent kidnapping of the Acting Ejeh of Ankpa and Barr. Isaac Ekpa, all in Kogi East senatorial district, as unacceptable.  

Hon. Monday enjoined traditional rulers in the state to caution their subjects to desist from social vices as the state has been enjoying relative peace for some time now.
