Igala Vanguard has frowned against the two ambassadorial nominees from Kogi State stating that their nomination did not consider Federal character and principle of equity.
In a statement signed by the convener, Engineer Lawrence Akpa, after a crucial meeting, the group alleges that both career and non-career ambassadorial nominees from Kogi state are from same Kogi central district as the incumbent state Governor Yahaya Bello.
The group flayed the inability of the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to replace the late minister of Igala extraction and continued marginalization of Kogi East in Federal appointments. The group condemned subterranean moves by Governor Bello to ensure that other districts in the state are denied appropriate representation and appointments.
The group said it is politically incorrect for the Federal Government t0 concentrate sensitive appointments in one section of the state, leaving others to groan. They accused the state governor of being the brain behind the anomaly.
According to the group, “the section the governor comes from lacks the moral courage to raise such anomaly as their believe is to recover as much as possible all relevant appointment due for the state to their own people”.
Igala vanguard advised the appointees to show leadership example by turning down the offer to other section of the state and enjoined the Buhari-led government to redress the anomaly without consultation with the state governor.
