Secessionist group, Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MOSSOB), has called on South East and South South Governors to come together to stop the attacks on pro-Biafra protesters by security agents in their states.

This was stated by the MOSSOB leader, Solomon Chukwu, when his group paid a visit to Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. According to Vanguard news, about 1000 persons was said to have registered to join the secessionist group during the visit.

Chukwu said the brutal killing of unarmed citizens was a crime against humanity, hence governors ought to speak out and cease politicising the issue.

He stated that: “The governors are the chief security officers of their states; they should not sit and watch while security agents kill defenceless protesters. It is the right of the people to protest; they don’t bear arms, why would security agents turn their guns on the protesters who were holding a prayer session in Aba?”

“It is all part of the plot to destabilize the former Eastern region. South East and South South governors should wake up and stop playing politics with the lives of their people. They should rise and take up the matter with the authorities. Enough is enough.”

He called on the South South region to keep supporting their South Eastern brothers in the fight for the establishment of Biafra, saying that the region will benefit immensely and also have the freedom to enjoy their resources.

Leader of the South South MOSSOB group, Obong Bassey Bassey, in response to Chukwu, stated thus: “Since the late Gen. Philip Effiong fought for Biafra with all his might, we will also join hands to fight for freedom. Nigeria has failed us, our only hope is Biafra. We believe in Biafra.”

Meanwhile, in a related development, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has called attention of the public to their embattled leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who they say is being detained without access to food and necessary toiletries.

The group further alleged that Kuje prison authorities were harassing kanu, and that they (IPOB) will make Nigeria ungovernable if anything happens to Kanu.

The statement also addressed those who claim that the Ijaw is not part of Biafra.

“Nobody will ever change a people from what they are. The Ijaws are one people with one destiny with the Biafran people of the South East.We are one family. The Igbo, Ijaw, Igala, Igbanke, Igede and others have one value system and nobody can change it.”
