The organizers of the 2017 Igala cultural festival, has said that in this time of economic hardship, culture can bail the people out and give them reasons to stay very positive as they celebrate their heritage.
In statement by the Media Coordinator, Onoja Okpanachi, noted that it is against this background that the Igala people are set to celebrate their culture in grand style.
According to the statement, the event will hold at Anyigba by 10:00am on the 26th day of June, 2017 as culture, which he said is a veritable means of unity which, saying that is what the Nigeria nation need at the moment.
He added that the would be championed by Hilary Amodu, the documenter of the famous WHO’S WHO IN IGALALAND with great support from his partner, MADIRA GROUP.
Noting that the Igala Cultural Festival 2017 which has the royal blessings of HRM, Dr. Idakwo Ameh Oboni II, Agabaidu, Ata Igala and Chairman, Kogi State Council of Chiefs, is indeed a forerunner to the great positive things ahead in Igalaland, Kogi state and Nigeria in general.
Okpanachi maintained that there are indicators of cultural revival which he said this event is about to release on the land.
“Being a cultural package which enjoys the backing of the Ata Igala Palace, foremost Igala socio-cultural organizations namely; Ukomu Igala, Ojuju Agbadufu Igala, Igala Cultural Development Association, Igala Heritage Foundation, Igala Students Association, Arise Igala Grassroot Sensitization Initiative and many others are strongly behind it, working hand in hand with the organizers to ensure success of the whole package”
Speaking further, he said “The Igala Cultural Festival 2017 which promises to be the first of its kind in packaging and production of cultural event in Igalaland and the entire Kogi State has the endorsement of Kogi State Ministry of Culture and Tourism as it also enjoys quality support from Dangote Group”
