The Igala community in Kaduna State has raised concerns over security challenges in Kogi State and called on the state government to rise to the occasion in addressing the problem headlong.
Chairman, Elders Council of the Igala community, Alhaji Shuaibu Ahmadu in a statement issued in Abuja yesterday, observed that the menace of kidnapping particularly in Kogi-East, has been of concern in recent times and urged the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to intensify efforts in tackling the problem.
He said the insecurity in Kogi East was unacceptable and called on all concerned to unite and confront the situation jointly, adding that the responsibility should not be left to the government.
Ahmadu also expressed worry that insecurity was taking negative tolls on trading and farming activities in the area as locals now live in fears owing to activities of criminal elements that often terrorize them.
