People’s love and support for the Candidacy of Honourable David Zechariah is burnout of the quest for good representations. His ascendancy into the political spectrum of our Federal Constituency marked a watershed in the political history of Idah Federal Constituency.
We have for a long time engaged in the ultimate search for Good and God fearing personality that would represent us at the National Assembly, both upper and the lower chambers. But, God in His infinite mercies may have answered our prayers with the emergence of Alhaji Jibrin Echocho and Hon. David Zachariah as flag bearer respectively.
My focus at this point in time is narrowed down to Idah Federal Constituency.
Before the various party primaries, one name that was in the mouth of virtually every household was that of Hon. David Zachariah. In the market and every public space, it was prayers galore for this gentleman to get the supports of the delegates. Without mincing words, I can boldly say that, his emergence was a divine intervention and long awaited prayers answered.
My recent encounter with a certain Grace, an orphan in one of the villages in Idah Federal Constituency is the motivational factor behind this epistle. It was an emotional incidence that must be amplified so as to spur other people in taking philanthropic decisions. Expressing her feelings, she told me point blank, the positive impact of Zacharia’s Foundation to her family, that if not for the foundation, she wouldn’t have been able to register for WAEC.
Like I have always said, the days of leaving our future in the hands of career politicians who only care for their selfish and egomaniac interest is now over. We as a people must take our destiny into our hands. We must henceforth reward the good doers with good.
We may have wronged ourselves in the past for not taken into cognisance the calibres of people that represented us at the lower chambers of the National Assembly, but, we have another golden opportunity to rewrite the history of our Constituency for good.
Today, one thing that stands out Hon. David Zechariah among other contestants is his humanitarian work as a private person who is not in any elective positions, yet, he has been outstanding compared to other contestants.
Furthermore, apart from the fact that Hon. David Zechariah is from Ofu, the only Local Government in the constituency yet to produce a Member of House of Representatives, he is the most capable and reliable person that can be trusted with that position considering his antecedents. His honesty and integrity is second to none. The 34th President of United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower once said, “The supreme quality of leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a section gang, a football field, in an army, or in an office.” Honesty and integrity are two important ingredients which make a good leader.
Finally, a vote for Honourable David Zechariah is a vote for justice, equity, progress, fairness and above all good representations.
