The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has described Okun people of Kogi State as peaceful, accommodating and progressive minds.
Ooni made this known when the Yeye Oge of Okunland, Chief Omoleye Aiyelabowo led other dignitaries from Okunland to Ooni’s palace in Ile-Ife.
Aiyelabowo informed the monarch that she and her entourage chose to visit Ooni in a bid to strengthen the relationship between Okun people and her Ile-Ife heritage.
“History has it that we are descendants from Ile Ife and it is needful that we come pay homage to our Imperial Majesty and as well reconnect ourselves to the blessings of our tradition and cultural heritage. Our visit is to also enhance our relationship with Ife especially the palace”, she said.
Senior Special Assistant on Youth Empowerment (West) to Kogi State Governor, Hon. Austin Aiyelabowo made it known to Ooni that Okun people are playing enviable roles in the development of Kogi State and Nigeria.
