The Deputy Majority Leader and member-elect to represent Ankpa 1 State Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has pledged to empower many youths in Ankpa local government area of Kogi state.
Speaking to newsmen after receiving his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ahmed said the focus on youth empowerment was a decision aimed at making many restless and unemployed youths self-reliant thereby enhancing the socio-economic activities in the state.
In his words; “I am a strong advocate of the youths and I believe the youths are the backbone of every society because without them, nothing meaningful can be achieved in any society. I know most of their challenges and that is why I have made youth empowerment an important priority. We have done this in the last three years in office and even before I was elected to represent my people and by the grace of God, I will hit the ground running again as promised during the electioneering.”
Hon. Ahmed Mohammed also spoke on the reelection of the Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello.
He said the governor has demonstrated his fully capacity as leader of the party in Kogi State, by delivering all the House of Assembly members to All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I appreciate my people for the confidence repose in me by reelecting me to represent them for the second time, and they have assured me that we have finished the first phase of the election, the second phase is the governorship election and we stand by our party and the leader of our party in Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello. We should remain resolute, focus and committed to ensuring that he is returned elected come November 2019.”
