Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has said he would re-contest for the presidency in the near future.
Speaking with state house correspondents after a ‘thank you’ visit to President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, Bello said his next attempt will be “supersonic”.
The undaunted former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) appealed to his followers not to be disillusioned by his loss, urging them to support the ruling party across the board in the upcoming general elections
.According to him, he joined the contest for the APC presidential ticket to “test the mic”.
On the possibility of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, having a Muslim running mate, the governor stated that religion or region should not be a factor for political office.
He said whether a Muslim/Muslim or Christian/Christian ticket, the major consideration for selection should be the ability to deliver.
