Human are indeed driven by various needs and the quest for power and wealth is a complex issue

In the context of Nigeria, the quest for power and wealth has led to various challenges including corruption, environmental degradation and social unrest.

The various categories of the human want includes economic needs, social needs, political needs among others.

Economic needs includes the need for survival including access to resources ,food ,shelter and healthcare which mainly driven human behavior.

Secondly, security needs in terms of financial stability and wealth which can provide a means of security

Growth – human strive for economic growth, innovations and progress.

Social needs which comprises of recognition – human seek recognition, respect and status within thier communities

The need to belong – people often strive for power to belong to a particular group or class

Influence- human wants to influence others , shape thier environment and leave a mark

Political needs
Power – the desire for power and control is a fundamental drivers of human behavior

Authority – human may see authority as a means to protect their interest , impose order or shape policy

Legacy leaders often want to leave a lasting legacy

But the dark side of human quest may includes

Greed – unchecked desire for wealth and power can lead to exploitation and harm to others

Corruption – the abuse of power for personal gain is a significant issue globally

Inequality – concentration of wealth and power can exacerbates social and economic desperities

In conclusion it is advisable that human practice self awareness and mindfulness to recognize when your desire are driven by external pressure or internal voids and ask yourself if they timely align with your valves through the following steps

Set boundaries and know when enough is enough to certain desire

Cultivate the habit of gratitude by focusing on what you have not just what you want

Find alternative fulfillments by investing in relationship, personal growth or activity that bring joy and finally practice self care by prioritizing your well- being and happiness.
