In spite of the victory of the opposition at the national level, the former chairman of Okene Local Government Area, Hon Yahaya Karaku has stated that hope is not lost in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to him, PDP is the party that has ideology and that is focused and expressed optimism that the party would remain strong in the nation’s polity.

Hon Karaku who spoke to newsmen recently in Lokoja, said PDP would continue to play a leading role in the nation’s democracy as it has done over the years.

The former council boss urged PDP supporters not to give up hope in remaining in the party, assuring that the party would rise again in no distant time.

He pointed out that those who jump from one party to the other have no ideology which he said is dangerous for the development of democracy.

Hon Karaku further said that the opposition should commend PDP for putting up a credible electoral body, noting that the development paved way for the opposition to win election at the national level.

The PDP chieftain thanked the electorate in the country for their orderly conduct at the polls, saying the scenario has placed Nigerians as lovers of democracy
