It is no news that Senator Daniel Dino Melaye of Kogi West is swimming troubled waters. The controversial senator is currently running from pillar to post looking for who will save him from his career-threatening problems.
Aside the renewed recall process by INEC and the case instituted against him on false information by the AGF, Dino Melaye’s is badly disturbed by the recent revelation that he is sponsoring notorious thugs in Kogi State.
Confessions made to the police and general public by the dreaded criminals that the Senator gave them money and arms meant for criminal purposes has throw the loquacious Senator into serious dilemma. For fear of arrest, the unsettled senator is currently hiding.
The embattled Melaye, this reporter gathered, has been mounting relentless pressure on Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki to save him from Police and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.
It was gathered that Melaye has threatened to expose Saraki and his camp in the Senate if they fail to help him.
Today, a credible source confided in this reporter that a Senator from the North West called the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ali Janga, on Dino’s issue. The northern senator said he was told to find out if Dino actually ‘did it’. When the Commissioner of Police explained how the criminals confessed, the Senator said he will reveal his findings to his “group”.
The source is not sure of the group yet but it might not be unconnected to the Saraki group. The rumor that Dino is threatening Saraki might be true afterall. Janga reportedly told the caller that the  Inspector General of Police has insisted due process must be followed.
