Hon. Ahmed Mohammed Supervises The Distribution Of Health Facilities To Rural Communities

In a bid to address medical deficits in Ankpa LGA, a non-governmental organization, Akubo Brightlight Foundation has given free medical services to over 500 rural dwellers in some communities.

Honorable Ahmed Mohammed, on Saturday, 30th April 2016 received Akubo Brightlight Foundation in Ojogobi village in Ankpa Local government. About Ten doctors and other health personnel provided health talks, diagnosis and gave free drugs to community members in Ojogobi village.

Speaking to The member representing Ankpa 1 constituency, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed who fully influences the project to Ankpa LGA, he said Akubo Brightlight Foundation offered these services to alleviate the plight of the poor, adding that rural dwellers are vulnerable to diseases and often cannot easily access medical services.

He said the turnout was impressive, adding that the number of people who came for the programme was overwhelmed as they were enough drugs to cater for diseases such as hypertension malaria, typhoid, eye problems, diabetics, etc.

Speaking to the coordinator, Mr. Akubo Iliyasu, he said “In most instances, we do not have statistical data of the common illnesses in the areas, so we come with general drugs. There is need for more medical facilities, there is need to expand because of the population, the people have to be concerned about their health. There is need for awareness among the people to pay frequent visits to hospitals and health care centers in their various communities.”

He said that the medical outreach was his own way of giving back to the society and commended Honorable Ahmed Mohammed for fully supporting this project.
