Worried by devastating killings in Dekina, Omala and Bassa communities, Federal lawmakers from Kogi East, yesterday, met behind closed doors.
Members of House of Representatives; Benjamin Ikani Okolo of Dekina-Bassa Federal constituency, Hassan Omale of Ankpa Federal constituency and Emmanuel Makoji Egwu of Idah Federal constituency met with the senator representing the zone, Atai Aidoko Ali.
Disturbed by the recent killings in Kogi East, the lawmakers met to fashion out strategies to stop the menace and further attacks.
The federal lawmakers reiterated their rejection of the cattle colony idea of government. They discussed on the need mobilise necessary security apparatus to complement the on going security arrangement in the communities that are under attack.
They expressed fear that with the mode of operation adopted by the fulani herdsmen during the attacks, it is possible for the mayhem to spread like wildfire to other parts of Kogi East.
They resolve to re-convene in few days and roll out actionable steps that will help resolve the unfortunate situation.
