Halims Feeds Over 3,000 at Ramadan, Prays for End of COVID-19

As part of activities to mark the ongoing Ramadan fast, the member representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, has provided food stuff and hand sanitizers to over 3,000 constituents across the three local government areas of his constituency.

He equally prayed for an end to COVID-19 distributed the food items and hand sanitizers with the aim of alleviating the sufferings of his constituents during the holy month of Ramadan.

Halims, who has earlier empowered over 1,000 of his constituents to be self sufficient in various fields of artisan practice, deemed it fit to give as Ramadan, coupled with the harsh conditions of the Coronavirus pandemic is a time for giving.

The lawmaker used the opportunity to call on other wealthy indigenes of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro to bring some of their wealth home and invest in the people, who he described as hardworking, entrepreneurial and innovative if given the necessary resources.

He stressed that the poverty level in the country and in his constituency will be tremendously reduced if all wealthy Igala people invest at least thirty to forty per cent of their wealth in their home towns.

The federal lawmaker whose messages were passed in proxy maintained that Ramadan is a time to give to the needy and those who are less privileged. Hence, whether restricted by lockdown or not, his people deserves attention as it is not a time to show off wealth or flaunt entourages to oppress.
