Halima Wada Promises More Poverty Alleviation Programmes for Kogi Women

Wife of Kogi State Governor, Hajia Halima Wada has reiterated her commitment to initiating people oriented programs that would meet the yearning and aspirations of women in the state.

Hajia Halima stated this during the flag-off ceremony of the Food Outreach for Women Orphans and Disabled (FOWOD) at Okpo, Olamaboro Local Government Area of the state.

The wife of the governor said that the plight of widows, orphans and the disabled remains her top priority added that the project is geared towards poverty alleviation.

While describing the basic needs of humans in every society as food clothes and shelter Hajia Halima said her pet project Kogi Women Empowerment Network (KOWEN) decided to organize the exercise to meet up with the needs of the less priviledged in the society.

Hajia Halima enjoined the good people of the area to continue to support the administration of Governor Idris Wada to enable him pilot the affairs of the state peacefully and also to attract more dividend of democracy.

Speaking at the occasion the commissioner of women affairs and social development Mrs Patience Mameh commended the wife of the governor for her laudable programs that has continue to put smiles on the faces of the less priviledged.

Earlier the chairperson of Olamaboro Local Government Laruba Adejo thanked the wife of the governor for her effort in ensuring that poverty alleviation in the state and also appreciated the governor for creating an enabling enviroment for women participation in politics.
