Pilgrims from Kogi state have been told to pray for the progress and peace of Kogi state while in the holy land of Makkah for this year’s hajj operation.

This advice was given yesterday by the Commissioner in charge of enlightenment and welfare, Sheik Luqman Abdalla Imam in Makkah during a sensitization programme for the pilgrims.

According to him, if there is no peace in the state, no progress can be made, urging the pilgrims to pray for the state as well as its leadership.

He commended the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for ensuring that pilgrims from the state are comfortable by providing an accommodation that is close to the Haram, saying that this has reduced cost and stress for the pilgrims.

He enjoined the pilgrims to take their religious obligation seriously, through prayers and continued adherence to the tenants of Islam.

He called on all pilgrims to avoid those things that can put them into trouble, adding that it is only by doing so that they can be good ambassadors of the state and Nigeria.

Earlier the head of operations for this year hajj operation, Alh. Monsur Muhammed Imam, took the pilgrims through what is expected of them while in Makkah.

He warned that for any Pilgrim to achieve an acceptable hajj, they must shun all sinful acts that can make their supplication unacceptable to Allah.
