Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the results of the Saturday’s governorship election held in the state.

The PDP, in a statement signed by Bode Ogunmola, described the election as another ‘world war’. The party maintained that the election did not reflect the wishes of the Kogi electorate.

PDP called for the outright cancellation of the exercise, describing it as a sham, where results were outrightly written by the state government for INEC officials to read and present.

“The exercise was marred with violence, killing and ballot snatching. Results from Okene, Adavi and Okehi were written without any conduct of election.

“We reject the results in totality and call for cancellation of the entire election as it fails to meet minimum standard.”
