“Even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream” –  Martin Luther King Jr.

Based on the released INEC timetable regarding the forthcoming Kogi State gubernatorial election which has been slated to hold on the 16th of November, 2019, we in the Unity Party Of Nigeria (U.P.N) in conjunction with the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Kogi State Chapter have considered it imperative to set the agenda straight to the road to recovery and redemption for our next governor owing to the fact that the dreams of the future is better than the history of the past.

The Confluence State belongs to all sons and daughters across the 21 local government areas of our dear state and this is the time to come together irrespective of our political differences, religious beliefs, sex or race to build a prosperous and transformed Kogi State of our dreams that we can all be proud of, so that the death of our heroes past and the sacrifices of our living legends will not be in vain.

As an activist and active player in the last election, I contested for the Kogi State House of Assembly seat. Having toured round the fifteen wards that made up Kabba/Bunu Constituency and my subsequent tours round the 21 local government areas on party assignments, I have come to the point of realization that only a collective effort can build the Kogi State of our dream as Kogi State is too blessed to be a model state to other states of the federation.

It is on this basis that we have organized the symposium with the theme: “Debating The November 16th Governorship Election in Kogi State: The Road To A Better Tomorrow For All”. There is an urgent need to make the forthcoming election in Kogi State issues driven and development focused agenda.

The highlights of the symposium are: Democracy Promotion, Security, Good Governance, Non-Violent Election and Post Election.

We therefore appeal to the general public and voters in Kogi State to be in attendance at the NUJ Hall, Lokoja on the 22nd of August, 2019 at 12:00 pm (Prompt).

Come one, come all and let us reason together for a better Kogi State.

Comrade Oluwaloseyi Solomon Babaeko, Convener, 08030858606.
