As a result of his ability to successfully lobby for inclusion of twelve beneficiaries in the ongoing Federal Government entrepreneurial development program on fisheries and aquaculture, the member representing Okene-Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ahmed Tijani Damisa has been commended by groups and individuals in the constituency.
Giving the commendation on behalf of the groups, the Chairman, Central Working Committee (CWC) of Tijani Damisa Political Network, Ohindase Isa Aliu, hailed Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his foresight by identifying a selfless leader in the person of Damisa. He said the empowerment in fisheries and aquaculture will translate to economic improvement of the beneficiaries and their families.
Ahmed Yusuf Tijani Damisa, a member of the House Committee on Federal Character, told this reporter in Lokoja on Tuesday that he will continue to attract federal benefits to the people of his constituency, adding that attracting such programs to constituents will trigger jobs creation, thereby improving their standard of living.
Damisa also commended the Yahaya Bello administration for “efforts he has made to improve the standards of living. As a lawmaker, I will continue to key into the efforts of the Yahaya Bello administration to improve the standard of life of the people.
“When this first set of beneficiaries establish their fish ponds and become productive, I want them to teach more people so that more people of my constituency will be gainfully employed and self-reliant,” he said.
Damisa also thanked the authorities of the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Lagos, for the development collaboration, adding that it is the beginning of a series of business training programs.
The program, which started on Tuesday October 23rd will end on 26th of same month.
