Kogi West Conscience, a sociopolitical group, has called on the state chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Abdullahi Bello to expel member representing Yagba West in the State House of Assembly, Aderonke Aro, for engaging in anti-party activities.
In a statement issued by the national president, Ademola Bakare, on Sunday, the group also called on Governor Yahaya Bello to wield the big stick on the “errant Assembly member” who is bent on destroying APC in Yagba West local government.
Bakare berated the state lawmaker for biting the same hands that fed him.
“Aderonke Aro is an ingrate. Same APC nominated him and worked tirelessly to ensure his emergence as member, Kogi State House of Assembly in 2019 against all odds.
“APC has remained so good to Aderonke Aro in the last four years and do not deserve to be treated the way this errant lawmaker is treating it today.
“Like we said in a press statement long before the general elections, we called attention to the fact that anti-party activities among APC leaders is worst in Yagba West local government. Saturday House of Assembly election further confirmed our outcry completely.
“Specifically, the current House of Assembly member representing Yagba West, Hon. Aderonke Aro worked openly working against candidates of APC at the elections.
“We call on the state party chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello Dollar, to expel Aderonke Aro from the party immediately and ensure he is removed from the State Assembly without further delay,” he said.
Bakare hailed Governor Bello and the party leadership in the state for ensuring the party win all Senate seats and majority of the Reps and State Assembly seats in the just concluded elections.
