A group, under the aegis of Confluence Rescue Mission (COREM), has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely release of timetable for the Kogi state governorship election fixed for November 2015.

The group said that the alarming degree of economic and socio-political devastation in Kogi of today requires a pragmatic, focused, and visionary leader to salvage. It therefore called on the people of the state to support the gubernatorial ambition of Prince Abubakar

Briefing journalists yesterday, in Abuja, the Coordinator of COREM, Comrade Odaudu Joel noted that the group has been expecting INEC to release the timetable for the election, adding that the release was a welcome development.

“The time table is very good, we believe we are prepared for the election coming up in November. We are expecting victory for Abubakar Audu because he has all it takes to make it to Lugard House. Successive administrations after him have not only taken Kogi backward, the political calendar has been taken backward. All that he did during his tenure have been left to rot so the people are clamouring for his return, hence the need for us to come out and support him to ensure that the dream of our people of having a better Kogi state is actualised”.

He observed that current government in the state has failed the people of Kogi state and ruptured the confidence, adding that all sectors of the Kogi economy have gone comatose.

According to Joel, “Kogi state is sick and needs a tenacious leader to salvage it and not a political neophyte
