Group Condemns Cleric’s Murder in Kogi

A group, Ebira Peace Vanguard (EPV), has condemned the killing  of Sheikh Abdulazeez Sadiq Enyinavi, an Islamic scholar, by gunmen  in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The condemnation was contained in a statement signed by the chairman and secretary of the group,  Comrade  Ismail Usman and Isah Momohjimoh respectively.

The statement said the  Islamic cleric was murdered   Thursday morning in Okene,  while alighting from  his  car to go to the mosque for his weekly programme.

It added that Enyinavi was killed alongside two  other persons, describing the assailants  as heartless and callous.

While commiserating with the family of  Sheikh Enyinavi and  the two others, the group described  the death of the Islamic teacher as a great loss to the entire people of Ebiraland and the Muslim community.

It called on security agents to investigate the killing and bring the perpetrators to book.
