A group, Ebira Peace Vanguard (EPV), has condemned the killing of Sheikh Abdulazeez Sadiq Enyinavi, an Islamic scholar, by gunmen in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The condemnation was contained in a statement signed by the chairman and secretary of the group, Comrade Ismail Usman and Isah Momohjimoh respectively.
The statement said the Islamic cleric was murdered Thursday morning in Okene, while alighting from his car to go to the mosque for his weekly programme.
It added that Enyinavi was killed alongside two other persons, describing the assailants as heartless and callous.
While commiserating with the family of Sheikh Enyinavi and the two others, the group described the death of the Islamic teacher as a great loss to the entire people of Ebiraland and the Muslim community.
It called on security agents to investigate the killing and bring the perpetrators to book.
