Igah Progressive Association (IPA), the umbrella body of the people of Igah in Olamaboro local government area of Kogi State has commended Senator Atai Aidoko Ali over the provision of new 500KVA transformer, hospital equipment/drugs and a model solar motorised borehole to the community in Ugbamaka Iga.
In a press statement issued on behalf of the Ugbamaka Iga community by the leader of the group, Idris Yakubu, Aidoko was lauded for the provision of social amenities contrary to insinuations from the state government and politically motivated statement to smear the name of the senator.
The youth leader promised to protect the equipment to avoid a recurrence when the previous one provided by the Senator was vandalized by hoodlums in the community that are against the development of the area.
He said with all these infrastructural facilities, plans by the senator to extend the electricity from Onicha Igo junction and attraction of GSM service providers to the area will be a plus to the growth of the community.
Idris Yakubu said the youths are not unaware of plans, which is at conclusive stage, by the Senator to empower the people economically through training, micro and macro economic activities to improve the socio-economic development of the area.
Comrade Idris stated that the courage to carry out this laudable projects was devoid of political maneuvering instigated by the Kogi state government to provide social amenities only on the radio and on the pages of newspapers through empty promises.
He urged the state government to discontinue needless instigation of the community against their own son as the more than two years administration of the Yahaya Bello led team had brought untold hardship by the dearth of infrastructure and non payment of salaries and pension to workers at all levels in the state.
Idris urged the Senator not to be discouraged by the critics orchestrated by the state government whose development strategies is to fight top political office holders in the state and expressed more support in the ongoing litigation at the court, urging him not to be distracted.
He described the current video clip trending online as concocted lies, saying the administration is a drowning group and wounded lion owing to obvious maladministration.
