Kogi Patriotic Group (KPG) has challenged labour leaders in the state over the grave yard silence on the statement by Governor Yahaya Bello feigning ignorance over the payment of percentage salaries to Kogi workers for the past six months.

The group. in a statement issued Friday and made available to newsmen in Lokoja by its leader, Abdul Abdul, asked labour leaders to return balance of percentage salaries to state civil servants or face public embarrassment from Kogi workers.

Governor Bello had in an interview on a national television exonerated his administration over payment of percentage salaries to Kogi workers since the beginning of this year.

“The public denial shows that some labour leaders must have connived with top government officials to shortchange public workers in the state.’’

The group promised to alert the anti corruption agencies like the EFCC and ICPC to carry out a holistic investigation into this weighty allegations and position of Kogi state Governor.

“It is disheartening and tantamount to haywire corruption for public workers emoluments to be pilfer by labour leaders and top government officials, without the consent of the govenment.’’

Abdul promised to start the campaign to recover Kogi workers salaries balance from court of public opinion, and later the conventional courts to unravel the culprits.
