Kogi State Government has said it is sparing no effort in ensuring security of lives and properties.
Capt Idris Wada, the State Governor, made the disclosure at the 2012 batch c orientation course swearing-in ceremony of National Youth Service Corps Members deployed to the State.
Represented by his Deputy, Arc Yomi Awoniyi, the orientation course for the new NYSC members, the Governor noted coincided with the twenty first anniversary of the state creation,said the state has made giant strides in the Education,Health,and other socio -economic sectors.
The Governor added that the state is on the verge of transformation as well as taking its pride of place among comity of developed states,described the state as peaceful and filled with potentials.
Capt Wada, urged the corps members to work towards surpassing the achievements of their predecessors,urging them to also be law abiding and believe in a united,peaceful country with development prospects .
The Governor appealed to them to get acquainted with the geography and culture of Kogi people also asked them to take their service year seriously adding that they have by their swearing-in been inducted into national service.
In his speech, Board Chairman, Kogi State NYSC and Commissioner of Youths and Sports,Anthony Puke,said the the corps members will during their three weeks course under take course in entrepreneurial Skills and other teachings aimed at broadening their horizon.
In his welcome remarks, Anthony Enweonwu, Kogi State coordinator, NYSC,said 1878 corps members registered for the orientation,described the youths as hope for a brighter future.
Highlight of the occasion was the administration of oath of allegiance on the corps members by Justice Richard Olorunfemi, who represented Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajanah.
