Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has assured the organizers of 2022 National Sports Festival of the state’s readiness to participate fully in this year’s fiesta.
Receiving the torch of unity on behalf of the Governor at the Kogi State Government House, Lokoja on Friday, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pharmacist Jamiu Abdulkareem Asuku disclosed that every obligations necessary for Kogi State to participate at the event will be facilitated.
He assured Mr Saka Hakim, a representative from Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, that Kogi State will no doubt participate in the festival.
“I want to assure you that Kogi State will participate at the National Sport Festival tagged Asaba 2022 and every financial obligations that will enable the team to participate favourably in the event will be made available,” he said.
Kogi State Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Hon. Musa Idris who earlier received the Torch of Unity from teams of Ministry of Youth and Sports and presented same to the Governor said “Kogi State is home to varieties of sports like football, basketball and others”.
He added that Kogi will not only participate at the event but will pull a shocker by competing favourably for medals.
