Gov Yahaya Bello a Symbol of National Peace, Unity – CAN President

The President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Samson Ayokunle has applauded Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State for the respect he has continued to accord the Church in the state as well as his untiring efforts at entrenching peace, good governance, and security of lives and property.

He gave the plaudits when he paid a courtesy call on the State Deputy Governor, Dr. Edward Onoja at his official residence, on Wednesday.

The leader of the Christian umbrella body also lauded Governor Bello for promoting love and unity among adherents of different religious beliefs in Kogi State and upheld the fruitful relationship shared between Governor Bello and his Deputy, Chief Onoja.

The Deputy Governor joined the CAN President at the tree planting, ground-breaking, and foundation laying of the Chapel of Grace at Felele Campus of the Federal University, Lokoja.

He said the edifice would encourage Christian worship in the institution’s permanent site.

Rev. Ayokunle commended Governor Bello for breaking a 28 years jinx by situating a befitting edifice for Christian worship in the Kogi Government House, saying the Governor also bears a portfolio demonstrated through his bold national statements of trimming the talons of insecurity in the State.

He prayed for the New Direction Team led by Governor Bello, whilst praying for increased unity, peace, and prosperity in Kogi State.

Also in attendance were the Kogi State CAN Chairman, Special Apostle Adebayo Emmanuel, Chaplain, Federal University, Lokoja, Pst. Kayode Ajibade, and the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University, Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi.

Others were Pastor of First Baptist Church, Lokoja, Rev. Theophilus Ajala, as well as CAN Youths and Women Wings.
