Forty witnesses have so far testified for the ACN at the Kogi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Lokoja.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and its candidate in the 2011 elections, Prince Abubakar Audu are challenging the election of Captain Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on December 3, 2011 as governor of the State.

One of the witnesses, Ali Okpanachi from Sabon Gari Ward 1, Unit 001, alleged that money was brought in a big bag and distributed openly to voters by a political party.

“Before God and man, they shared money on the queue. After voting, each voter was given a signal to go to certain location where it will be confirmed the party he/she voted for before receiving additional money.”

Most of the witnesses said they made verbal complaints to security agents who shunned them.

ACN lawyer, Charles Edosomwan (SAN), said the petitioners would soon submit their report on the ongoing scanning of ballot papers used in the election.
