A chieftain of the All Progressives Party in Kogi State, Senator Smart Adeyemi has commended Governor Yahaya Bello for the massive revolution going on across the state in the area of rice production.
In a press statement issued on Sunday, Adeyemi said the 50 tonnes rice mill project at Omi Dam will create jobs and boost the revenue base of the state.
He noted that the rice mill project, when completed, will feed the nation and make the product readily available for all Nigerians.
“The steps taken so far by the governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello will go along way in improving the economy of the state and the nation in general. Kogi State is emerging the number one agricultural state in the federation.
“Kogi State had declared a state of emergency in the agricultural sector long before the unstable revenue generation in the state. The visionary administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello has placed agriculture on the front burners of its economic prosperity plan known as the New Direction Agenda.
“A massive revolution is going on across the state in the area of rice production.
“The Omi Dam rice Project is breathing down on the leading rice producers in the country,” he said.
Senator Adeyemi also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for awarding the construction of Kabba-Egbe-Omu Aran road.
He said the road will restore the economic fortunes of the communities along the road and fast-track development in Kogi West.
He called on Kogites to the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello total support so that he can deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.
