The leadership style and sterling performance of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has been identified as the probable reason why six lawmakers in the Kogi State House of Assembly left their Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the  All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Director General on Media and Publicity to Kogi Governor, Kingsley Fanwo, made this known in an official reaction to the news of the lawmakers’ defection.
“Governor Yahaya Bello will continue to deliver on his promises and continue to strengthen the APC. APC is a revolutionary movement against poverty, underdevelopment and corruption.
“Today in Kogi State, the New Direction administration under the leadership of the Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello is working hard to serve the people of the state, defeat poverty and criminality and take the state to the promised land.

“Politics is about the people and development. I am quite sure the constituents of the new defectors must have impressed it on them to join the Governor’s party as the party is becoming the most popular as Kogites experience leadership extraordinaire.
“As the leader of the party in Kogi State, the Governor welcomes them to the APC fold and wishes to assure them that all will be treated equally in the party.”
He assured lawmakers who have not left their party that the Yahaya Bello-led government will continue to work with them in the interest of the progress and prosperity of Kogi people.
