Gov. Bello’s Infrastructural Projects Has Created Over 40,000 Indirect, Civil Service Jobs – Aide

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State on Civil Service and Labour Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has described ongoing infrastructural development across the state as unprecedented.

Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday, Adeyemi hailed Governor Bello’s Midas touch in critical sectors of the economy whic has resulted in creation of thousands of direct civil service job opportunities and tens of thousands of indirect jobs in area of construction and allied sectors.

The Special Adviser said the manner the new direction government has changed the face of infrastructure in the state is unusual.

He noted that Gov. Bello’s gigantic projects has become a source of livelihood to several tens of thousands in site locations across the state. Projects like the newly established Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, newly established Prince Abubakar Audu University Teaching Hospital, newly built GYB Model Science Secondary Schools across the three senatorial districts, newly built reference hospital, Okene, newly built Ultra Modern Hospitals at Gegu-Beki in Kogi LGA, Isanlu in Yagba East LGA, Ajaokuta, renovated Idah zonal hospital and the reconstructed Lokoja Specialist Hospital, renovated has contributed in no small means to daily livelihood of citizens of the state.

Adeyemi said construction works within Kogi State Polytechnic, construction within Kogi State College of Education, Kabba and reconstruction with College of Nursing, Obangede are evident manifestation of the emerging new economy in the state.

The Special Adviser said it is heartwarming to say that these newly built institutions have created civil service job opportunities for more than 15,000 Kogites and indirect jobs for more than 40,000 citizens before the end of 2023.

He said Governor Yahaya Bello has proven to be a sound administrator whose policies have created multidimensional benefits to Kogites thereby increasing the people’s purchasing power across the state.

Hon Olabode further opined that the ongoing teachers recruitment exercise by the relevant board under the ministry of education where more than 20,000 Kogites are currently engaged in facial interviews for employment is the most soothing news across the state that has left the critics of the government dumb.

“What Governor Bello has done in terms of job security through the establishment of health and educational institutions and facilities remain unmatchable and unassailable,” he said. 

He said as his Special Adviser on Civil Service and Labour Matters, he is proud of the Governor and the government for considering labour matters as a top priority.

He said the Governor remains the leader who have populated the labour force membership through unimaginable employment creation and economic emancipation of the state being a civil service driven state.

“It is a thing of joy that a Governor who pays 30,000 minimum wage is undeterred about wage bill but still creating job opportunities in all sector. In few months to come, the state will be in need of medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists and several medical personnel to take over all the newly built hospitals across the state just as new teachers are being recruited to fill in all the news schools the Governor have built across the state.”

He enjoined the people of the state to continue to support the Governor and the new direction government that is delivering on all her promises
