There was heavy security today at Felele and environs as Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello prayed at Felele Eid praying ground, Lokoja.
The governor, who arrived under water tight security, prayed along side his aides and other top government officials.
Thousands of muslims avoided the praying ground to avoid been molested by over three hundred security agents deployed to the felele praying field
The felele praying ground which is seeing as a traditional worshiping field by Muslims in Lokoja, today suffered low turnout as residence chooses to prayed at Lokoja township stadium which was full to capacity and other praying field within the city.
Speaking on the development, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, an octogenarian said; “all my life this is the first time I performed my Eid prayers outside felele praying ground. I have to because we are under siege by security, who were deployed to protect a Governor that failed in his responsibilities”
The Governor who arrived with over forty vehicles in his convey along side the state commissioner of police, Speaker Kogi state house of assembly met a scanty worshipers,as many Muslims worshipers relocated to Markaz, Stadium, Lokon Goma, and other praying fields.
It will be recalled that Governor Yahaya Bello during the 25th year celebration was pelted at Lokoja Central mosque by aggrieved worshipers.
In another development, a member of Red Cross, Mallam Ahmad Abubakar Datti was attacked by hoodlums suspected to be hired thugs.
Datti who sustained injuries said ” the culprits was arrested but later set free after the Ajaokuta Local Government administrator, Akaba Mustapha, appealed to us and confirmed that he mobilized them (the thugs), he dropped some money and left”, he explained.
