Gov Bello Meets Miners, Vows to Make Kogi Industrial Giant

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has expressed commitment to transform the state to an industrial hub capable of leading the nation to a new dawn of economic prosperity.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Kingsley Fanwo, Bello made the commitment in Abuja at a strategic meeting with some key players in the mining and agricultural sector.

The statement said the governor met  key policy experts in commercial agriculture and mining and discussions were on prioritising agriculture and mining to turn the economy from overdependence on crude-oil powered federal allocations, and quoted the governor as saying that Kogi State has immense economic opportunities and the administration is prepared to tap into the potentials to take the state to a new development pedestal.

“Moving forward, the Governor has decided to expand the frontiers of economic possibilities in the state by making agriculture and mining the pillars of his industrialization drive,” the statement said.
