Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole has felicitated with Nigeria workers especially those in Kogi State for their resilience, dedication and commitment to duty despite the economy challenges confronting the state at this time.
He stated that there is no gainsaying that the current administration led by Alhaji Yahaya Bello in the state mean well for the civil servants, hence the process embarked on to sanitize the service for the overall benefit of the state.
He congratulated the State NLC for the successful conduct of their state Congress. He urged them to continue to show understanding and contribute their quota to the repositioning of the state civil service irrespective of the challenges, noting that the service is the engine room of any government in the world.
The speaker said, the 6th Assembly under his watch will continue to work with the union and other relevant stakeholders to legislate workers friendly laws that will promote good governance in the state.
He appealed to them not to allow politicians to hijack the union for their personal gains, pointing out that the Governorship Election is fast approaching in the State hence it is expected of them to cooperate and support the administration to deliver on its promises to the people.
He congratulated them for witnessing another May Day celebrations.
